Academic Excellence
Our High School Courses provide a valuable opportunity for students to learn in a classical model while offering the convenience of personal assessment and feedback along the way. Students gain accountability as we partner with parents through our convenient grading system. Courses may have a recommended grade level, yet you as the parent still have the freedom to choose what your student is ready to experience.
Most courses are one day a week, with the exception of Math and higher level Sciences which are better practiced daily, thus have a two-day per week class period.
Certain life skills courses carry such an important value to the development of a leader that we have made them required courses to attend our academy, though only one is necessary per 2 semesters. The prices of these courses are significantly reduced because the heart of Liberty Academy is truly to equip students with that specific valuable information for their future. All equipping courses are marked with an asterisk and only one is necessary per 2 semesters.

*Apologetics 1 & 2 - Ladies {Fall & Spring}
15 weeks - 1/2 credit
Apologetics 1, taught during the fall, is an all-girls apologetics class geared toward students in 9th - 12th grade. Apologetics 1 focuses on making a positive case for the truth of Christianity using the classical apologetic method. In the first half of Apologetics 1, students will learn about the nature of objective truth, the importance of theology as a foundation for apologetics, and why Christians are not called to have “blind faith.” Next, they will be introduced to classical arguments for the existence of God, including arguments from causality, dependency, fine-tuning, and the existence of objective moral values. Together, they will test the strength of each argument in class and refute objections.
In the second half of the course, students will learn how to defend the historical resurrection of Jesus and the trustworthiness of the New Testament as eyewitness testimony. The final unit of the course teaches students how to have Gospel conversations with friends and family, and how to use their “apologetics toolbox” to calmly and confidently answer questions in everyday life.
Apologetics 2 shifts the focus from arguments for God’s existence to famous objections. Students will contend with difficult passages of the Old Testament, including verses about slavery and genocide; learn how to answer objections against the reliability of New Testament manuscripts; and respond to the challenge of other prominent worldviews.
Additionally, students will spend time discussing one of the most emotionally impactful objections to God’s existence: the presence of evil and suffering in the world, and how to make sense of suffering by examining several answers to the problem of evil throughout church history.
To close out the course, students will learn how to apply their apologetics in conversations and what steps to take next on the journey to become a lifelong apologist.
